He’s a busy man, but we managed to catch up with co-owner of Meno a Kwena, Hennie Rawlinson to learn more about the camp and his life.

How did you first become involved with Meno a Kwena?

“From the first time I set foot at Meno (as it’s affectionately known), I said ‘now this is the kind of place that suits me and my idea of a safari camp’.

That was back in around 2004. I told the Dugmores that if they ever wanted to sell it, I would be very interested.”

What makes Meno a special camp in your opinion?

“Meno is special because of its location, and its atmosphere. It has the best view in the whole of Botswana, and it has the feel of a true safari, with the odd splash of luxury where it’s needed.”

If you could bottle just one aspect of Meno, what would it be?

“I’d bottle the view.”

How do you relax when you’re not working?

“I like to spend time with my wife and my kids in remote places. Otherwise, the beach will do.”
