Eretsha Primary School Outreach

Mapula Camp supports Eretsha Primary School with supplies, school transport with the Elephant Express from January 2020, and in 2019 eye exams and eyewear for students

Vision2020 / Maun to Maun Humanitarian Project

Humanitarian road trip performing eye tests and arranging glasses for those in need, sponsored by Mapula Lodge and Meno a Kwena Camp. Natural Selection recently supported this inspiring road trip which saw a team cover over1025km through Botswana villages around the Okavango Delta. During this time they tested 4211 children and some adults, and issued approximately 154 free sets of glasses and handed out environmental education material, including visits to the schools at Eretsha, Beetsha, Gudigwa, Gunotsoga and Seronga.

Eretsha Village Primary Education Material

Following a meeting with village elders, community members and the local school, a lack of education and educational material was identified as a priority. As a short-term solution to this, we arranged for the donation of pens, pencils and notebooks to the school and its pupils. We welcome visitors to contribute as we broaden this sponsorship of school supplies. This outreach works in conjunction with the Natural Selection Elephant Express that will assist pupils in getting to school safely through this known elephant corridor.
