The Ultimate Photographic Safari Adventure...

Allow Danny Crous to take you on a 6 night safari to unearth some of the hidden gems of Botswana. This terrain is a photographers dream come true. Where the wilds are wild, the open skies limitless. Danny will take you to two of our incredible camps, in contrasting environments. From the nature rich waterways of the Okavango Delta, to the captivating salt pans of the Kalahari desert, here you’ll create everlasting memories from behind the lens.

DAY 1, 2 & 3: LITTLE SABLE, KHWAI PRIVATE RESERVE

This is paired-back luxury and a classic delta safari experience. At Little Sable Danny will take you on a photographic adventure as he guides you around the game rich waterways of the Okavango Delta. His years of bush and photography experience will help you capture the delights of nature’s rich tapestry. No matter what level you are, seasoned professional or amateur, this is where creativity, guide experience and nature perfectly coincide.

With only 8, Traditional-style tents, Little Sable is an intimate camp with an emphasis on hospitality and comfort, offering a stylish yet relaxed safari experience. Each room is a cosy retreat from the elements and all have wonderfully large King-size beds (that can also be twins), writing desks, cool ensuite bathrooms, outside showers and private viewing decks with views across the shimmering grasslands.

At the main area, there is a bright lounge and dining area with extended outside decking and a large fire pit which makes the perfect spot for that first morning cuppa or an early evening G&T. Located just in front of a favourite grazing spot for zebra and elephant, it’s a fabulous wildlife-watching base during siesta time too – or at any time of day for that matter. Under the thatch, the bar, lounge and dining areas are subtly stylish, offering a touch of old-world English heritage mixed with the ambience of African inspired creativity.

DAY 4, 5 & 6: CAMP KALAHARI, MAKGADIKGADI PANS

Catch a chartered flight from the Okavango Delta to spend the next three nights in the heart of the Kalahari. Camp Kalahari sits amongst the acacias and palms on an Island, on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. Here Danny will take you on a thrilling photographic adventure. The desert culture, lunar-like salt pans, baobab silhouettes, desert sunrises & sunsets, unique wild creatures, stillness and star filled nights, make for an incredible picture-perfect setting.

As a photographer, the Okavango Delta and Makgadikgadi Pans should be on your bucket list. This is a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with your camera in these iconic and wild places.
And you couldn’t be in better hands.

Laidback and understated, nothing is overly elaborate at Camp Kalahari. Instead, you’ll find 12, Meru-style canvas tents filled with fresh textiles, Moroccan kilims and funky four-posters. Shower alfresco in the open-air, ensuite bathrooms (there’s definitely no one around to disturb your privacy here!), and there’s plenty of hot and cold water available throughout the day. If you’re travelling with your brood, choose one of the interconnecting family tents; with a bathroom linking the space for children and adults, it’s ideal for families and groups.

The common areas include a central library and a living and dining area, festooned with an eclectic mix of original African furniture and colonial antiques. Meals are refreshingly simple and wonderfully tasty, and served, family-style, at the long table. There’s also a thatched swimming pool, providing the perfect place for a refreshing dip on a hot afternoon – just watch out for the ellies who might pop in for a quick drink too. We’ve kept our use of electricity to a minimum too; there are electrical lights in the bedrooms, but when night falls, the majority of camp is lit by twinkling paraffin lanterns (but camera batteries and other appliances can be charged in the safari vehicles when required).

Accommodation & Amenities

  • Swimming pool
  • Wifi available: No
  • Hairdryers: No
  • Battery charging facilities: In the mess tent
