What’s your full name, and how did you become known as Mrs. P?

“My full name is Puisano Letlhare. It’s easier for guests to call me Mrs P because it’s shorter.”

Where are you originally from?

“I come from Mosetse Village, which is 100 kilometers before Francistown, the second biggest town in Botswana.”

What’s your background?

“I have worked in the tourism industry since 2005. I started as a reservations consultant, then I became front of house supervisor, then I was assistant lodge manager, and then camp manager.”

What is your position at Sable Alley?

“I’m an assistant general manager.”

How long have you worked at the camp?

“I’ve been here since August 2017.”

What does your job entail?

“Guest reservations and relations, as well as general lodge management and assisting the general manager on the day to day running of the lodge.”

What’s a typical day for you?

“I sometimes start work as early as 5:30 am and I continue until 6 pm. Otherwise, I begin at 7 am and continue until the last guest goes to bed.”

What’s your favourite part of the day?

“When there is a lot of guest check-ins and orientations. It keeps me busy and I enjoy interacting with the different nationalities.”

What makes Sable Alley a special camp in your opinion?

“The Khwai area. The lodge itself is in a beautiful location, with the main area overlooking a permanent hippo pool, and there are lots of different animal species that roam the area.”
