Botswana’s Okavango Delta is well known as a watery wonderland, but this year it’s looking as though its waterways will be particularly abundant.

Despite appearances earlier in the year suggesting that floodwaters would be low, there have recently been very good rains in Angola, with more on the way, and local rainfall has also been excellent. This means that the water activities for which the area is famous should be particularly strong this year for most of the peak season.

The graph above shows the amount of water flowing down the Okavango River just before it enters Botswana.
